WOODBINE, Ga. – November 7, 2019 – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has notified Camden County, Georgia that it has set a date for the release of the Final Spaceport Camden Environmental Impact Statement (EIS). The FAA announced today that intends to issue and distribute the Final EIS on December 16, 2019. A record of decision is expected no earlier than thirty days after the release of the final EIS. “We’ve been waiting a long time for this announcement and Camden County has been working very closely with the FAA to keep our launch application review on schedule,” said County Commission Chairman, Jimmy Starline. “Given the complexities involved in an Environmental Impact Statement and the number of federal agencies involved, the FAA has done a remarkable job of adhering to its estimated timeline,” added County Administrator, Steve Howard.
