His journey began in San Diego, California and ended on St Simons Island, Georgia. In March of this year, he began a second run across America, beginning in Georgia with a planned finish in California after his 100th birthday.
Tonight the Grand Ole Opry will salute members of the U.S. Military with an annual red carpet parade and a special Salute The Troops performance. Ernie is set to lead the red carpet [arade of fewllow military men and women into the Opry House before the evening's performance. Among the artists scheduled to perform are Trace Adkins, Brantley Gilbert, Lee Greenwood, Craig Morgan, The Wild Feathers, and Mark Wills.
