Suspects in Car Break-Ins Still at Large

From Glynn County Police:

On September 13, 2021 at about 3:35 AM, Glynn County Police Patrol officers responded to reports of suspects burglarizing cars in the Satilla Sands subdivision in southern Glynn County near US 17 South. After arrival in the area, officers observed suspects flee on foot. Officers pursued the suspects into the woods surrounding the subdivision. 

During that pursuit, a single gunshot was heard by the officers. The source of the gunshot could not be determined and the shot was not fired by GCPD officers. 

Officers were able to apprehend one suspect. 

Officers continued to search the area throughout the early morning hours. A K-9 team from Brunswick Police responded to assist in tracking the suspects. A helicopter from law Enforcement Division of Georgia Department of Natural Resources was also utilized to search for the other suspects. Officers searched the area from about 3:45 AM until 11:00 AM. No additional suspects were located. 

This is an ongoing investigation and information is still being gathered at this time.
