GLOVE with Nancy Druid - 107.7 The Fox Free Show

107.7 The Fox and Saint Simons Music welcome Glove and Nancy Druid to St. Simons Island.

Our 3rd show in the free concert series featuring regional indie bands. Tampa's Glove, who supported The Nude Party for our last event, is back with Savannah's Nancy Druid. We think these bands are going to be a knockout one-two punch.

Join us TUESDAY, JANUARY 29th at Murphy's Tavern.

Glove are a new exciting four-piece primitive American rock n’ roll band hailing from Tampa, Florida. They’re young, got bite, got soul and are a gang of new traditionalists making music which straddles both punk and proto-rock. They’re definitely a band with synths, but not a synth-band. Let’s get that straight. I hear classic influences creeping in from the likes of Gary Numan, New Order, The b-52s, Devo, Talking Heads, Can, Neu!, and The The. Cold in procedure and woke on lyrics. All in the mix are some zesty angular guitars with catchy riffs, steady snare crack beat bumping and that kraut-rock driven bass happening. oh, and you can dance to it. - Travis Keller (Buddyhead Records)

Nancy Druid is a rock band from Savannah, Georgia. Grown from the solo songwriting of Anna Chandler (COEDS, Lovely Locks), the project fuses pop hooks with brooding grit, emotional builds, and layered synths and guitar riffs, turning solo bedroom dance parties into an explosive, immersive stage show. Embracing a love for '80s avant-pop a la Kate Bush with Cyndi Lauper-sized melodies, Nancy Druid's members hold roots in punk and indie rock, as evidenced on the band's Connect Savannah-christened "adventurous and brilliant" debut EP, released in September 2018. The band is set to release a 7" split single, among other recordings, in 2019.
