YUNGBLUD Creates My Chemical Romance Mashup On The Spot: Watch

2019 iHeartRadio Wango Tango Presented By The JUVÉDERM® Collection Of Dermal Fillers - Show

During a recent visit to BBC Radio 1, YUNGBLUD was tasked with the hefty challenge of matching his lyrics to the tune of another song. And not just any song: My Chemical Romance's "Welcome To The Black Parade."

"I'm a bit nervous on this one. If this goes wrong it’s sacreligious,” he admitted before asking the DJ to "hit" him with the instrumentals. After taking some time to find the key, the English rocker was able to sing the lyrics of his own single "Hope For The Underrated Youth" to match with the music. And honestly, it's beautiful.

Watch the 22-year-old's impromptu mashup skills below.

Last month YUNGBLUD showed off more mashup skills when he stitched together bits of Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello's "Señorita," Amy Winehouse's "Back to Black," and Travis Scott's "Goosebumps" during a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance. And not only did he somehow make them seem like one cohesive song, but made them sound like a song he wrote.

Though not a collection of mashups, YUNGBLUD dropped his Hope For The Underrated Youth EP on October 18, which features six songs including a collaboration with Imagine Dragons' Dan Reynolds. He's also planning on releasing a full-length album sometime next year.
