The surviving members of Soundgarden are teaming up for a special show on December 14. Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Ben Shepherd are reuniting as Nudedragons to play a concert to help benefit the Seattle Children's Hospital uncompensated care fund. The 13th annual SMooCH concert is taking place at the Showbox in Seattle on December 14. They'll be joined by vocalist Shaina Shepherd, and according the benefit's website, the band’s appearance will be a “brief encore performance.”

Nudedragons is an anagram of Soundgarden and the band played under the same moniker in 2010 when they reunited for their first show since 1997. This will be the third time the former bandmates have all played together since Chris Cornell's tragic passing in 2017. They performed together during his tribute concert in 2019 and again with Brandi Carlile in 2021, when they backed the singer-songwriter for covers of “Black Hole Sun” and “Searching With My Good Eye Closed.”

Thayil and Cameron have also been playing together in the grunge supergroup 3rd Secret, which also features Nirvana's Krist Novoselic. In 2022, they surprise-released their self-titled debut album. The pair also appeared on The Pretty Reckless' 2021 song "Only Love Can Save Me Now."
