Brunswick's Old Fashioned July 4th Celebration

 In 2016 USA Today readers voted Brunswick, Georgia's Old Fashioned Fourth of July Celebration as the number one in the nation. This year, come enjoy a free 30-minute fireworks display over the East River and Oglethorpe Bay. The festivities start at 7:00 p.m. and feature organized and supervised free classic games like sack races, tug-of-wars, horseshoes, various ball games, hula-hoop contests and more. Players compete for prizes of delicious whole South Georgia watermelons.  Free slices are handed out all evening, compliments of the City of Brunswick. Brunswick's fireworks over the waters of the East River and Oglethorpe Bay start about 9:00 pm. The event tis sponsored each year by The City of Brunswick, Golden Isles Arts and Humanities Association, and the Downtown Development Authority.
