A routine traffic stop on a section of I-95 in Glynn County, Georgia led to the seizure of 14 pounds of methamphetamine valued at more than $650,000, the largest meth seizure in Glynn County history.
Glynn County Police officer James Lightsey pulled a southbound Hyandai Sonataover for speeding on Tuesday, January 9th at about 1:25 p.m. at mile marker 39 on I-95. Apon speaking to the occupants of the vehicle, Officer Lightsey noticed the occupants of the vehicle acting nervous. Lightsey called in a K-9 unit, and after a search by Officer Anthony Browning’s K-P dog Grey, he immediately alerted on the car which led to the discovery of 14 pounds of suspected methamphetamine in the car and a small amount of cocaine on the female passenger. The two suspects were taken to the Glynn County jail as was the vehicle, where a search revealed the meth concealed in a spare tire.
Alberto Arroyo, 47, and his passenger, Adriana Delacruz, 44, both were arrested and taken to the Glynn County Detention Center. Arroyo is charged with trafficking methamphetamine. Delacruz is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of cocaine and possession of a schedule IV narcotic.
