This month the Florida Department of Agriculture has reported the following 14 confirmed cases of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) occurred in June, 2018:
On June 1st, one horse in Marion County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 10 year old Arabian mare was vaccinated 4 months prior and was euthanized on June 1st due to a poor prognosis.
On June 2nd, one horse in Nassau County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 3 year old Thoroughbred mare was vaccinated 7 months prior and was euthanized on June 2 due to a poor prognosis.
On June 4th, one horse in Suwanee County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 2 year old Trakehner mare was vaccinated 1 year prior and was euthanized on June 4th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 8th, one horse in Putnam County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 7 year old unvaccinated Paint gelding was euthanized on June 9th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 10th, one horse in Pasco County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 5 year old unvaccinated Spotted Saddle Horse mare was euthanized on June 10th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 11th, one horse in Gilchrist County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 6 year old mini mare was vaccinated 2 years prior and was euthanized on June 11th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 12th, one horse in Marion County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 5 year old unvaccinated pony mare was euthanized on June 12th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 15th, one horse in Suwanee County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 1 year old unvaccinated Thoroughbred stallion was euthanized on June 15th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 16th, one horse in Volusia County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 2 year old unvaccinated Quarter Horse mare was euthanized on June 17th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 17th, one horse in Okeechobee County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 1 year old Standardbred gelding was vaccinated 9 months prior and was euthanized on June 17th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 19th, one horse in Marion County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 2 year old Quarter Horse mare has an unknown vaccine history and was euthanized on June 19th due to a poor prognosis.
On June 21st, one horse in Volusia County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 4 year old female donkey was vaccinated 1 year prior and was euthanized on June 22nd due to a poor prognosis.
On June 21st, one horse in Marion County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 1 year old Thoroughbred stallion was vaccinated 1 month prior and was euthanized on June 23rd due to a poor prognosis.
On June 22nd, one horse in Sumter County, Florida tested positive for EEE. The 9 year old unvaccinated Quarter Horse mare was euthanized on June 22nd due to a poor prognosis.
